Tropical Pacific Drifting Buoys

JULY 2020

During July 2020, 278 satellite-tracked surface drifting buoys were reporting from the tropical Pacific. Eastward near-equatorial anomalies of 60-80 cm/s were measured by a small number of drifters in the eastern part of the basin, with peak values at 1-3S latitude.
